Red Rice Porridge(சிவப்பு அரிசி கஞ்சி)

              Red Rice Porridge(சிவப்பு அரிசி கஞ்சி) is a very healthy dish for all especially for kids.I used to prepare this for dinner. Usually people make this dish with white rice but i tried this with red rice.

 Ingredients

Red Rice -1/2 cup
Bengal Gram-2 tbsp
Channa dhal-2 tbsp
Sago-2 tbsp
fenugreek-1/2 tspn

Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Carrot - 1
Green Chilli - 4
GingerGarlicPaste - 1 tbsp
corainder leaves - 2 stalks
Mint leaves - 4 stalks

Cinnamon - 2
Cardomam  - 2 piece
Cloves - 3

Salt


Preparation

Soak bengal gram, Channa dhal, fenugreek and Sago together for about 10 hrs.
Boil sago and channa dhal in Pressure Cooker.

Add 1 tbsp of oil in a Pressure Pan.
Add cinnamon.cloves,cardamom and when they start spluttering
add thinly sliced onion and fry for 3 min
Then add splitted green chillies,chopped tomatoes,cilantro and mint leaves.
Finally add gingergarlic paste and fry until its raw smell goes off.
Add 3 cups of water to it.

When water starts boiling add the washed red rice.
then after 5 mins add soaked bengal gram,fenugreek .
And finally boiled channa & sago mixture to it.
Close the lid and let the mixture cooks for  5,6 whistles.

Note: Adjust the consistency of the Porridge with water or coconut milk.
