Broccoli Poriyal


Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Broccoli -1 small head
Green Chillies - 2
Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Coriander Powder - 1 tspn
oil - 1/2 tspn
mustard - 1/2 tspn
Aniseed - 1/2 tspn(sombu in tamil)
curry leaves - 1 stalk
corainder leaves - few

  1. Chop the onion and tomatoes finely.slice the green chillies.
  2. Break the Broccoli into small florets and cut the stem into small pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds when it splutters add sombu then add curry leaves.
  4. Saute it well ,add onion,chillies and tomatoes one by one and then add broccoli pieces and fry
  5. Add chilli and corainder powders bring to boil and fry for 3 min .add salt to it
  6. Now sprinkle some water and leave it .
  7. Remove from heat when broccoli color changes or broccoli boils
  8. Serve it hot
Goes well with rasam or curd rice.
